- This supervisory position involves strategic planning, analysis, and management around recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and sustaining a large community of non-physician (nurse practitioner and physician assistant) clinical providers.
- Manages administrative, educational, and financial aspects of the provider community.
- Engages and communicates clearly and consistently with physicians and practice leaders to maintain solid working relationships.
- Works closely with operational and implementation teams to manage practice expectations.
- Manages and oversees assigned staff to fulfill directives and achieve quality and value-based goals.
- This position reports to the senior administrative official of the section and to the (physician) director of the section.
- Recognized as a proficient, highly skilled clinician who assists physician colleagues in providing care and case management of patients.
- Routinely demonstrates acquired in-depth knowledge about the care of a specific patient population in daily practice.
- In this role provides oversight and leadership for a service line.
- Works in collaboration with Director of APPs in crafting a strategic plan for the APP cohort.
- Assists in the preparation and effective managing of annual operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility
- Monitors monthly expenditure reports to assess APP value/productivity
- Develops yearly budget structure for APPs in area and ensure in congruence with Emory structure
- Work with physician and administrative teams to determine APP practice needs/growth planning in area.
- Encourage strong physician and interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
- Optimize use of APPs allowing practice to fullest of education and training in accordance with State of GA and Emory policies
- Promote APP employment engagement and retention, with identification of opportunities for improvement
- Oversee the hire, interviewing, and onboard of new APPs
- Address disciplinary, performance issues (including Initiating and completing Performance Improvement Plans) w/dismissal if appropriate
- Ensure creation of formal/standardized onboarding program for new APP hires
- Perform annual Performance Advantage reviews of leads (including obtaining feedback from team members to complete evaluations and meeting face to face with APPs) with mentorship for lead professional growth and succession planning.
- Develop guidelines for departmental APP Individual Goals and help APPs set Individual goals for the year; check in throughout the year to be sure staying on track to complete (develop plan for professional growth)
- Review daily metrics and ensure compliance in meeting quality and safety team metrics
- Oversee the completion of OPPE/FPPE for all APPs
- Create and provide ongoing collaboration/discussion/communication with APPs/residents/fellows about clinical coverage and communication of service
- Lead APP staff meetings to ensure open lines of communication and engagement
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
- Will spend 80% of time performing administrative duties and 20% of time performing clinical duties Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
- Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.
- Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.
- Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes. - Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Master's degree or DNP in nursing leadership required. Minimum of five years of leadership experience.
- BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas. - Provides comprehensive evaluations and testing, occupational therapy treatments, and education to seriously ill patients or those having complex medical problems and families which are consistent with patient's individualized needs and carried out within an interdisciplinary environment.
- Assists in supervising support staff and students and in developing in-service training programs for continuing staff development.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Pathologist's Assistant (PA) Supervisor is considered a working supervisor with the expectation to perform the general duties of a Pathologist Assistant, as defined below, under the general supervision of the Director of Anatomic Pathology, Medical Director of the grossroom and in collaboration with the Chief of Anatomic Pathology to ensure continuity of service. Upholds the values of the organization including providing and demonstrating exemplary customer service skills throughout the preanalytical, analytical and post analytical processes. Supervises direct reports, creates monthly work schedules and monitors staff attendance. Provides on-going performance feedback including mid-year and annual evaluations and participates in competency evaluation of pathologists' assistant team members. Works with leader on personnel-related issues and participates in discussions regarding disciplinary actions. Actively participates in hiring process and decision making. Orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies ways to develop skills. Operationally and actively manages assigned areas including active participation in discussions and decision making for departmental process improvement projects. - The Physical Therapy Assistant II (PTA 2) will perform all the duties expected of a Physical Therapy Assistant I.
- Theses duties include providing physical therapy treatments and education to seriously ill patients or those having complex medical problems which are consistent with patients individualized needs and carried out within an interdisciplinary environment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist; Instructing and training patients and families regarding pertinent aspects of the patient's care; offering the patient increased knowledge and skill within an identified area of expertise.

7E is a 23-bed Medical Cardiac unit that admits complex medical patients and patients with cardiac issues, primarily heart failure. The cardiac patients are placed on telemetry and are monitored by the unit staff/remotely by highly trained telemetry techs. All nursing staff are skilled to identify heart rhythms and are given heart failure education. Every staff will complete a needs assessment survey once they are hired to evaluate learning needs followed by educational sessions as necessary. This unit ranked one of the highest scores in the Press Ganey Staff Engagement Survey in 2021.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Under the direct supervision of a Physical, Occupational, Recreation or Speech Therapist, assists with the provision of basic therapeutic services and other patient related activities; performs simple administrative, clerical and maintenance tasks in support of department/program operations.
- May provide clerical support services which include the receipt and distribution of mail, telephone and visitor reception and data entry.
- Attends staff meetings, in-services and patient rounds as appropriate to remain abreast of policies, activities, and changes which will imapct operations.
- Performs simple record keeping activities in support of departmental policies and procedures.
- Assists with the scheduling of patients for therapy to maximize efficiency and provide for optimal patient care.
- Maintains orderly work areas; assists in maintaining an established supply inventory, including linens.
- Assembles and prepares equipment and devices for treatment sessions and returns the equipment to its designated area.
- Cleans and maintains department equipment to ensure its maximum operational efficiency; reports unsafe or defective equipment to supervisor for immediate repair.
- Follows federal, JCAHO, CARD and organizational mandates and universal practices for infection control when handling soiled or contaminated items to ensure a safe work environment.
- Observes the patient for physical or emotional changes which may indicate an adverse change in condition; communicates significant changes to the appropriate member of the medical care team.
- Under the direction of a therapist, may assist with therapies and treatments including but not limited to hot packs, paraffin, exercise, ambulation and daily living activities.
- Transfers patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, beds and to and from treatment facilities within the hospital.
- Measures and records patient's vital signs.
- Assists with the fabrication of splints and other specialized devices and with the modification of specialized equipement.
- Works with manager to formulate a plan for professional development.
- Attends educational in-services as appropriate.
- Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices and developments.
- Practices universal and/or specialized precautions in the daily cleaning and sterilization of work surfaces, equipment, and/or instruments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
