JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The clinical pharmacist I practices as a pharmacy generalist in one or more patient care areas.
- In addition to direct patient care activities, this position is responsible for participating in departmental or institutional quality, safety, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Practices as a clinical pharmacist generalist in one or more patient care areas.
- Ensures appropriate therapy and institutional outcomes.

- Consistently evaluates, intervenes, and documents clinical interventions according to institutional protocols and guidelines.
- Accurately evaluates the usefulness of medical literature in optimizing evidenced based care.
- Monitors drug therapy regimens and makes recommendations or modifications per protocol.
- Utilizes system nomograms and other guidelines. Documents clinical activities and adverse drug events.
- Attends medical codes as applicable.
- Follows, maintains, and reinforces system policies and processes for proper dosing, storage, handling, dispensing, and/or administration of medications and compounded products.
- Handles conflict and problems, including ethical issues, constructively and appropriately.
- Appropriately engages with other clinical pharmacists and leadership as needed.
- Engages with other clinical pharmacists for complex clinical situations.
- Uses effective patient education materials and techniques for drug therapy, adverse effects, compliance, appropriate use, handling and drug administration education.
- Participates in coordination of transitions of care as appropriate.
- Responsible for service completion and patient satisfaction.
- Maintains clinical competency through licensure and departmental requirements.
- Serves as preceptor for pharmacy students or provides at least one educational in service annually.
- Precepts pharmacy students and residents as available.
- Assist in training of department of pharmacy and other disciplines.
- May participate in research and publication opportunities.
- Active engagement within departmental mentorship and collaboration programs.
- Recognizes process failures and actively engages in analysis and improvement efforts.
- Participates in at least one medication use evaluation or quality improvement project annually.
- Oversees the work performed by pharmacy students, technicians and pharmacists to ensure performance standards are maintained and work is in accordance with state, federal and organizational regulations.
- Documents adverse drug reactions and medication variances per policy.
- Follows, maintains, and reinforces medication use policies and processes to ensure financial medication stewardship.
- Supports cost-savings initiatives.
- Engages in review of medication insurance authorization status as applicable.
- Maintains understanding of 340b practices as applicable.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested. .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of relevant experience, Pharmacy Specialty Board certification or ASHP- Accredited Post Graduate Year 1 pharmacy residency preferred.
- One year of experience will be waived for candidates who have been employed as student/interns within the Emory Healthcare system.
- Active Georgia Pharmacist license or eligibility for licensure with attempt to register for next available Georgia Pharmacy Practical Examination and passing of the MPJE within 60 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 1 year for all positions with Code Blue coverage responsibility. JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is a modified cardiopulmonary bypass technique used for the treatment of life threatening cardiac or respiratory failure.
- An ECMO specialist is the technical specialist educated to manage the ECMO system including blood pump, tubing, artificial oxygenator, and related equipment.
- The ECMO specialist, under qualified medical direction and supervision, is also educated to be responsible for the clinical needs of the patient on ECMO which can include: (1) maintenance of normal acid-base balance, oxygenation and ventilation, (2) administration of blood products and blood by-products, (3) medication delivery, and (4) maintenance of appropriate anticoagulation.
- The Advanced Critical Care ECMO Therapist specializing in ECMO functions as an advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner providing specialized expertise pertaining to Extra Corporeal Life Support (ECLS) to all members of the health care team.
- The Advanced Critical Care ECMO Therapist Participates in the education, orientation, and training programs of the multi-disciplinary team to correspond care services pertaining to ECMO.
- Participates as a team member in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care services to ECMO.
- The ECMO specialist is familiar with and operates advanced ECMO support equipment and performs ECMO therapy according to physician orders.
- The ECMO specialist has the ability to communicate professionally with confidence to others in the role of educator, preceptor, or ECMO specialist including appropriate discussions with families.
- The ECMO specialist has the ability to adapt quickly to new ideas and concepts and determine which ideas are valid to allow for safe care of the ECMO patient.
- Participates in providing for the needs of the staff in keeping with their skills and proficiencies which are required to perform ECLS.
- Participates in performance improvement monitoring activities within the division and interdepartmentally.
- Proficient in all assigned duties required and will act as a clinical resource for ECLS.

- Assist the ECMO coordinator in organizing and implementing policy and procedure.

- Ability to calibrate Hemochron machine, obtain the ACT blood sample, and run ACT test. Generates and compiles appropriate clinical documentation and charges related to ECMO.
- Precepts new ECMO team members.
- Interprets and acts on clinical test results based on physician orders.
- Sets up and primes ECMO circuits, initiates and maintains extracorporeal life support according to protocols.
- Assists with discontinuation of extracorporeal life support.
- Assist with the logistics of cannulation, decannulation, and in-house transport of patients on ECMO.
- Manages planned and emergent disruption of ECMO. Replaces circuit components under normal and emergent conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a C.O.A.R.C. accredited Respiratory Care Program.
- Successful completion of ELSO training program.
- Minimum of two years of documented critical care experience.
- Minimum of one year documented ECMO experience.
- Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Current Respiratory Care Professional License (RCP) issued by the State of Georgia.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Program Certificate (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Adult Critical Care Specialist Program Certificate (ACCS) from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Active membership in American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC).

You will report directly to the Admissions Manager. You will be responsible for explaining the Company’s services to patients and families in a manner that results in the admission of appropriate patients.

About You
- You have a Registered Nurse license in the state where the program is located.

Join a self-scheduling team of five hospitalists. Our hospitalist schedule is 7 on 7 off, and physicians see an average of of 20 patients per day. Hospitalists have specialty support from our cardiology, pulmonary, orthopedic, and general surgery teams as well as tertiary backup from Savannah hospitals.
Will be employed by the Medical Center system. This is an immediate opening created by growing demand with our ever expanding service area. The selected candidates will be employed within the Medical Center's family of corporations and we currently employ almost 100 excellent providers who could basically practice anywhere in the country. The starting salary will be competitive with a $50,000 signing bonus. Our benefits are excellent. These numbers will be determined by the credentials of the candidate selected. RN Oncology Nurse

Our client is a 600 bed non-profit academic teaching hospital in Atlanta. They focus on bringing the science side and human side together to change the face of health care. They are one of the leading academic medical systems in GA, looking for an Oncology Nurse to join their rock star team and hospital.
Capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of the oncology patient population. The oncology nurse is able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family. Serves as a resource to colleagues and strong advocate for patients/families. Consistently communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team. Evaluates patient's response to planned care and adjusts plan of care as appropriate. Identifies patient and family learning needs and makes recommendations to resources regarding those needs. Incorporates AACN Synergy Model into clinical practice. Functions as Charge Nurse when assigned. Has awareness of one's own values and how they affect interactions and relationships. Recognizes that cultural differences need to be considered in developing patient and family relationships (focus on identifying cultural norms).
Qualifications:
- BSN preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care Oncology setting
- RN License in the State of GA
- BLS, ACLS certifications
