JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provides nutritional care support services by assisting with dietary assessments and the collection of dietary data for one or more research projects or studies.
- Screens and assesses patients to identify those needing nutritional intervention.
- Works in conjunction with Registered Dietitians (RD) to develops nutritional care plans and provide nutritional counseling and education to patients.
- Assists with calculating diet guides, formula education and diet instructions appropriate to the age, medical condition, outcome goals, and needs of the patient.
- Participates with the follow up in reporting blood and diet results to monitor patients for post clinic follow up under the supervision of RD and assists with data entry to maintain flow sheets.
- Performs basic clinical functions including nutrient analysis, and formula order verification and recipe entry.
- Conducts nutrient analysis per policy. Enters nutrient analysis and formula order recipes into Nutrition database.
- Verifies formula order recipe in Nutrition database.
- May conduct other clinical functions under the supervision of a RD.
- Handles ordering and inventory process to maintain adequate and safe supply of nutritional products and supplies.
- Maintains inventory control and orders and stocks nutritional formulas supplement and supplies according to policy and procedures.
- Participates in on-going process improvement activities of the department.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- An associate's degree in food and nutrition or dietetics from an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietitetics (AND) Technician program. Board registered as a Dietetic Technician by the American Dietetic Association.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
