Responsibilities The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. This is a non-tenure track position that will serve as principal didactic faculty in the Physician Assistant (PA) Program. Rank will be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate. Our PA Program is progressive, innovative, and emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based medicine, critical thinking application, and service. Students in our PA Program also engage in regular interprofessional education activities with our other College graduate programs (Physical Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Public Health, and Athletic Training) and with students in Nursing, Pharmacy, and Medicine.
Qualifications For PA applicants, qualifications include being a graduate of an accredited PA Program with a master’s degree (doctorate degree is preferred) with current NCCPA certification and eligible for licensure as a physician assistant. Minimum of 3 years of prior clinical experience; other professional experience will be considered. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in didactic teaching in a PA Program.
Background Check Selection of the final candidate is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
Pay Rate Commensurate with experience

Responsibilities include classroom/laboratory instruction and evaluation; academic course coordination; small group facilitator; advisement and mentoring of students; admissions and accreditation activities; committee and professional organization involvement; community service-learning projects; and scholarly activities (publications, grants, presentations, and collaborative projects). The successful candidate must be able to work in a collegial and collaborative atmosphere.

For MD or DO applicants, qualifications include being a graduate of an accredited medical school with current licensure as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in Georgia and certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board. Minimum of 3 years of prior clinical experience; other professional experience will be considered. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in didactic teaching in a PA Program.
