Cox Media Group-Atlanta Radio has a part-time opening for a weekend news anchors for our news-talk station, WSB
We are looking for an experience anchor with a great attitude and an exceptional work ethic. The ideal candidate must write conversationally and speak clearly and authoritatively. This position also requires a strong knowledge of current events both locally and nationally.

Responsibilities:

• Speaks fluently and conversationally live on the air
• Understands the importance of breaking news and works with speed to get stories on the air
• Edits sound and conducts phone interviews with newsmakers
• Voices and wraps stories after the on-air portion of the shift
• Builds strong relationships with our news partners at the AJC and Channel 2
• Performs other duties as assigned

• At least five years of experience anchoring radio news
• Must be able to work quickly under deadline pressure
• Knowledge of NewsBoss or a comparable news editing software program
• Self-directed and able to work independently or with a team

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Communications or another writing-intensive discipline and/or equivalent work experience
