Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Direct all therapies and training as assigned. Provide clinical consultation to staff. Implement individualized, strengths-based, culturally competent clinical and support services including on-going assessment, individual and family therapy, treatment planning, case management, skill development, behavior management and system coordination.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Complete thorough psychosocial and family assessments on assigned clients, assessing clients’ strengths, needs, abilities and preferences. Complete assessments within the designated time frames.
B. Design individualized treatment plans that reflect the assessed needs and preferences of the child/youth and family, building on their strengths, resources and abilities.
C. Conduct individual, group and family therapy sessions.
D. Coordinate services outlined in the treatment plan, ensuring that services and interventions are carried out, monitoring progress towards goals and modifying the plan as needed.
E. Provide clinical consultation to cottage staff.
F. Participate in Master Treatment Planning, Treatment Team, and other meetings as required.
G. Fully participate in weekly one-on-one sessions with direct supervisor, weekly team meetings, and other meetings as required.
H. Document all services in accordance with program policies and procedures.
I. Maintain client records in accordance with Hillside, State, Licensing and accreditation guidelines.
J. Maintain good rapport with other community agencies by attending meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences related to the Social Work/Counseling profession.
K. Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental milestones of children and adolescents.
L. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management.

CORE COMPETENCIES:
A. Design individualized treatment plans that reflect the assessed needs and preferences of the child/youth and family, building on their strengths, resources and abilities in coordination with the treatment team.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
A. Demonstrate timely completion of strengths-based plans that incorporate client input.
B. Through Progress Notes, Treatment Plan updates and case staffings, demonstrate progress toward the goals identified through the assessment and treatment planning process.
C. Be able to demonstrate that client records are maintained in accordance with policies, procedures and recognized best practices.
D. Provide therapy which helps client’s reach their treatment plan goals.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Professional Counseling preferred. Licensed by the State of Georgia in Social Work, Psychology or Professional Counseling required. Be familiar with DBT and be able to effectively use DBT in the therapeutic treatment of children and their families/caretakers. Be trained in ESI program and techniques. Be able to use the techniques safely and effectively.
EXPERIENCE: Clinical experience in Individual, Group and Family Therapy (internship may be used as experience).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must submit to an annual physical exam.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS:
A. Must not have a record of felony or misdemeanor convictions.
B. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the families Hillside serves. This includes working evenings and weekends when needed.
C. Maintain vehicle insurance coverage as required by Georgia law, Hillside policy and contracts.
D. Must demonstrate excellent writing skills.
E. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently of close supervision.
F. Must exercise good, sound independent judgment and action.
G. Must be willing to be part of a team and be receptive to supervision.
H. Must complete all trainings and attend all meetings required by the agency.
I. Hillside is a drug-free work place.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Guided by verbal and written instructions, policies and procedures and well established guidelines.
WORK SCHEDULE: Work hours vary as business needs dictate. Subject to be on-call 24 hours a day for crisis intervention.
