Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Transportation Survey Technician to join our growing Transportation team in our Atlanta, GA office. In this position, you will have the opportunity to utilize your advanced survey skills and experience working in a collaborative team environment supporting senior level survey and engineering staff.

Role accountabilities:
- Reports directly to Professional Land Surveyor
- Performs survey and design related calculations at the direction of Professional Land Surveyor and using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc.
- Make sure that all applicable work is in accordance with client related standards, specifications, and documentation
- Assist other survey staff and find solutions to problems
- Interprets engineering related documents and digital files
- Performs other appropriate related surveying duties
Desired skills and attributes:
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
- Ability to take ownership of assigned work and meet schedules and deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Works well as a team player for achieving the goals of the department
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying or related field
- Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications
- Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT) license in the state of Georgia, or able to be obtained in 1 year or less.
- Desire to further professional career and obtain Professional Land Surveyor license in the state of Georgia.
- Interest in gaining experience with GDOT required software such as Microstation, Open Roads Designer and In Roads.
- Interest in gaining experience with collection and reduction of field gathered hydrographic surveys.
- Interest in gaining experience with collection and reduction of mobile and terrestrial lidar data and modeling.
- Interest in gaining experience with collection and reduction GPS networks
- Interest in gaining experience with collection and reduction of UAV data.
- Interest in obtaining FAA Part 107 certification.
