CHRIS 180 services include: counseling for the community at large; school based mental health counseling; homes for abused, neglected foster children with emotional and behavioral problems who are in state custody; supportive housing for single and parenting young people, ages 17 – 24 who are homeless or aging out of foster care; in-home services and community programs that strengthen families; outreach, drop-in and community housing for older teens, young adults and young adult families; a community center; an adoption program for children in foster care; and, training for professionals, human service workers, educators, volunteers, individuals who work within the community, other organizations and children, youth and families. Position Summary:

The psychiatric nurse practitioner (NP) must be dedicated to providing assessments and medication

m anagement services to adults, adolescents and children using in-person and telehealth modalities.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and will be able to work independently in providing assessments and medication management while under the supervision of an MD

Role and Responsibilities

The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

Provide medication management services at CHRIS Counseling DeKalb for adults, adolescents, and children

(as appropriate).

  • See one intake per hour (40 minutes; 60 minutes for child)
  • See three med management cases per hour (20 minutes each)
  • Set and keep a regular schedule, with 25 billable hours per week (full time).
  • See all patients assigned during work hours.
  • Work in-person or via telemedicine as appropriate.
  • Be available for staff consultations and walk-in clients when patients are not booked.
  • Remain up-to-date on all clinical and administrative policies of CHRIS 180
  • Complete notes and prescribe through Carelogic and Dr. First.
  • Complete all documentation on time.
  • C o m p lete all assigned trainings on time.
  • C omply with all federal, state, and local laws and codes of ethics pertaining to diagnosis and treatment for psychiatric conditions in adults, adolescents and children.
  • Comply with licensing board requirements in obtaining psychiatric signatures for controlled substances and review of charts as needed.
  • Maintain state licensure and DEA certification.

Performance an d Conduct

  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Follow professional Code of Ethics
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements of GA Code
  • Support and maintain an environment of emotional and physical safety for clients, staff and other stakeholders at all times.
  • C h e ck the CHRIS 180 email account daily and respond in a timely manner to emails.

C us tomer Service

  • Promote positive image of CHRIS 180 programs at all times.
  • Work as a contributing and collaborative team member
  • Respond to client and peer needs in a timely fashion.
  • Answer telephone calls and emails accordingly
  • Respond to requests for information from stakeholders in a timely fashion .

Maintain Personal Information and Training

  • Maintain appropriate records with the state licensing board regarding practice supervision.
  • Furnish CHRIS 180 with copies of all licenses and certificates, and licenses required.
  • Renew licenses and certificates in a timely manner and furnish CHRIS 180 with copies of them.
  • Participate in all insurance programs as required by CHRIS 180.
  • Complete all paperwork required by clients, insurance companies, or CHRIS 180.
  • Adhere to standards set by Council on Accreditation (COA) or CAQH.
  • Meet all guidelines and requirements for services provided from the DBHDD Provider Manual.
  • Meet all policy standards and guidelines listed in the current CHRIS 180 policy and procedures handbooks.

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Master’s degree and licensure as a nurse practitioner.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
  • Skilled in providing medication management.
  • Ability to effectively relate to clients, parents/custodians of all social, economic, ethnic and educational ba ckgrounds, with compassion, fairness and clear boundaries.
  • Cultural humility, and the provision of culturally informed care.
  • Solid decision-making ability as related to the safety and well-being of clients, families, community, and staff.
  • Dependability, em ot i ona l stability.
  • Ability to recognize when assistance and consultation are needed
